January 2020

Welcome back everyone! We hope everyone has had a wonderful break and feels refreshed and renewed!

First and foremost, our Membership Meeting will be held on January 15th, 2020, at 4:00pm, in the HES Library. This meeting will give an update on all things concerning HES PTO. For new volunteers and or members please ask for a welcome packet!

December was a fantastic month! PTO hosted our annual Santa Shop, which was a great success. We had the pleasure of helping students shop and wrap their gifts. The children loved being able to hand pick items for their family and friends. Big shout out to all the Teachers, staff, and volunteers who made Santa Shop the success that it was!

Looking ahead, we have a busy next couple of months! We are excited for the up coming cookie class hosted by HES PTO and taught by Sweet Pickins. The tickets are $30. Each participant will get six cookies to decorate, a box to bring them home in, a cookie to eat and fellowship with community members. Tickets must be purchased by Friday January 10th. Anyone 12 and older are welcome. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

After our Cookie Class, PTO will be getting ready for Popcorn Friday on January 31st, and Teacher work day on January 27th. We enjoy showing support to our teachers by relieving lunch and recess duties, and assisting with special projects on Teacher Work Day. There has been great feedback from both volunteers and teachers. (All volunteers are background checked in accordance with state regulations).

Family Dance is coming up quick! This is a free event for the school district hosted by HES PTO. Save the date for February 7th, 2020, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm , in the HES Gym. Please come dressed to impress, and join us for fun, dancing, and refreshments.

One of the last big events for the next few months is Carnival. Please mark your calendars for March 6, 2020. Food starts at 5:00pm, games start at 5:30pm. More information to come!

HES PTO thrives on our volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers and would love the opportunity to share giving back to our school community. Without continued support from our volunteers, HES PTO could not do what we do.

To volunteer, email us, and PTO Volunteer Coordinator Corinne Miller will get back with you!

Until next time!

HES PTO

Update: Cookie night, with Polka Dot Sugar Shop, at Highlandville Elementary School, was a success! It was so much fun to meet some new people, and decorate some sweet treats.
